In April, the Ergo Store company had the pleasure of visiting the Milan Furniture Fair, the famous furniture expo. The range of the event was enormously impressive.
‘It was an exciting week, full of positive emotions and enthusiasm: exhibitors, who showed themselves to the best of their ability, showing the genius of their architects and designers, as well as the visitors of the fair, who came crowding to Mediolan to find out about the latest trends and innovations, and to feel the extraordinary atmosphere of Mediolan’, summarised this year’s fair Claude Luti, head of Salone del Mobile.
This year’s edition, which was held between 4 and 9 April, was the 56th edition of the famous Italian fair. They have been held since 1961 and initially focused on promoting the Italian native furniture. Today over 30 percent of the exhibitors come from abroad.
This year’s fair was visited by more than 340,000 guests from 165 countries. Their products and services were presented by over 2,000 exhibitors, both at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile itself, as well as during the events that took place at the fair, which concerned the accesories, lighting, or office furniture: the International Furnishing Accesories Exhibition, Euroluce, Workplace3.0 and SaloneSatellite.
‘The event impressed us very much. The place where Salone del Mobile is held is also unusual – in terms of spatial architecture as well as design or the organization itself’, said Paweł Dziarek, New Business Director of the Ergo Store.
Mediolan is also home to many famous Italian brands. Their presence at the fair was obligatory. At Salone del Mobile one could read about their offer for home furniture. Both middle-class and luxury brands showed their collections: Fendi, Roberto Cavalli, Bugatti, or Bentley.
‘The presence of natural materials in the production of the presented furniture was noticeable. Wood and stone dominated, also in noble form. Additionally, in our opinion, the trend of ‘retro’ in the modern version was strongly marked. There was no shortage of furniture with openwork structure, in composition with heavier elements’, Dziarek sums up.
Salone del Mobile is an extremely impressive venue full of inspiration, meetings with designers from around the world, as well as exchange of opinions and observations. Anyone involved in interior design simply needs to be here. See you at the Milan Fair in 2018! Please visit the website:www.salonemilano.it .
