EuroShop 2020 in line with sustainable development and digitalization

Ergo Store has once again participated in EuroShop – the most important and biggest retail trade fairs in the world.

Between 16 and 20 February, 2.3 thousand exhibitors from 57 countries presented themselves in the Messe Düsseldorf halls.  94 thousand visitors came to the Ruhr region to gather information on the latest products, industry trends and concepts. The exchange of know-how and business contacts took place in 16 exhibition halls.

“We are delighted that EuroShop once again successfully proved to be the most relevant platform for the global retail community when it comes to trends, inspirations and networking. Our exhibitors deserve the highest praise for their loyalty. With their innovative power they again proved the major attraction for an entire industry” – summed up Erhard Wienkamp, ​​Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf.

We feel great satisfaction that we could be part of such an important event. Euroshop sets the direction of the industry development for the forthcoming years, helps to build the brand image and also outlines business perspectives for the near future.

Our stand was located this year in hall 12 and was marked with the number A72. It was designed in a minimalist concept and prepared using natural materials. Our stand thus became a part of one of the dominant market trends, which was the use of natural, ecological materials for equipping the store in line with the spirit of zero waste and the need to reduce the negative impact of commercial trade on the environment. Today, customers expect sustainable concepts from retailers and producers. Many exhibitors met these expectations. The trade fair visitors could see specific solutions prepared in a spirit of sustainable development, such as a free-standing, automatic dispenser for refilling bottles or hangers for clothes made from recycled materials. Shop interiors decorated with natural plants looked more than interesting.

Trade fair visitors could visit not only the stands of individual companies, but also eight stages where presentations and discussion panels were held regarding various industry specialties, such as visual merchandising, retail marketing, omnichannel or technology.

Speaking of technology, like three years ago, it was in the spotlight. No wonder, after all, the success of e-commerce turned out to be a real challenge for stationary stores and was a catalyst for major qualitative changes in traditional trade.

This year’s Euroshop trade fair took place without major surprises, they brought us many valuable meetings and conversations. The next edition will take place in 2023. We will certainly not miss it.
