A showroom is a place where producers want to present their offer in the most attractive way. It is a type of retail space where the customer is treated more like a guest. It is usually a stationary store with fashionable luxury clothing or accessories. It also stands out from a traditional store by having a homely interior, the number of clothes on display is limited making it more like a private dressing room.
Today, showrooms have become an integral part of many industries. Designing a showroom is a process that requires consideration of many factors, such as functionality, aesthetics, ergonomics, branding and budget.
Recently, we produced a showroom for the Dockers brand in downtown Paris. Using this production as an example, we will show what the process of preparing this type of store looks like.
Spatial layout is one of the most important elements of showroom design. You need to determine what products will be displayed and what products will be in the store. That’s why it’s important to provide easy access to the products so that customers can see and test them thoroughly. In Dockers’ newest store, display furniture is laid out symmetrically and at convenient distances from each other. “The shopping path” is wide and enriched with aesthetic qualities – i.e. flowers and decorative posters.
When designing the spatial layout, it is also important to include seating and fitting areas so that customers can freely hang out in the showroom. We have set up such a zone in the center of the store.
Lighting is a key element of showroom design that affects the presentation of products and the atmosphere in the room. It should be properly selected and positioned to highlight the features of the products you want to draw attention to. In our project, we paid great attention to spot lighting and decorative leds with the company name.
Colors and textures are also key elements in showroom design. This choice should reflect the brand, while introducing the right aesthetic experience. Attention should be paid to color harmony to make the entire space cohesive and aesthetically pleasing. The Dockers showroom was designed in accordance with the current “California Cool” concept, which uses natural and organic materials and bright colors. Unsaturated, large wall graphics inspired by sunny California lend a holiday atmosphere.
The showroom for the Dockers brand that we prepared in Paris is located at 108 Rue la Boetie. We were responsible for the production of furniture and signboard with brand logo, delivery and assembly. The assembly work took place on February 17, 2023.
Dockers is a brand in the portfolio of the American Levi Strauss Group. It was officially founded in 1986, but its origins date back to the 19th century. We have been working with the Dockers brand for years, and during this time we been preparing, among others, shops in France, including Paris, and Spain, including several times Barcelona or Madrid.
