The new Dockers shop we prepared in France is based on the brand’s standard interior design concept – California Cool. It is dominated by natural materials – mainly wood. It is with this material that we primarily associate Dockers shops. Why is it so important to choose the right material for the shop interior?
The store’s decor and arrangement are not only about aesthetics but also a crucial element influencing customer experiences. The finishing material plays a significant role in creating the store’s atmosphere and affects the perception of the brand and customers’ approach to shopping. The first impression is a key moment in the shopping experience. The choice of materials, such as warm wood, stylish marbles, or modern glass, can further emphasize the brand’s uniqueness and build its image as elegant, exclusive or friendly.
The store’s finishing material should align with the brand’s identity. Dockers promotes a casual, laid-back style and focuses on the needs of people leading an active and sustainable lifestyle. The brand takes actions to minimize its impact on the natural environment, introducing sustainable practices in production processes and ensuring ethical standards in the supply chain. Hence, wood is an excellent reflection of the brand’s principles. The choice of appropriate materials can help define the brand’s character and communicate its values to customers at first glance.
The finishing material affects the store’s functionality and customers’ comfort during shopping. Comfortable floors, ergonomic handles, well-chosen colors – all of these can contribute to increasing comfort while exploring the store and searching for products. Paying attention to details and using attractive finishing materials can also encourage customers to spend more time in the store and effectively direct their attention to products, thereby increasing the likelihood of making a purchase. In the latest Dockers store, we focused on making the display furniture easy to dismantle and rearrange products. The store shelves have subtle colors and minimalist forms, placing the merchandise in the spotlight.
Finishing materials have the power to influence the store’s atmosphere and customers’ mood. Color palettes, textures, and patterns can evoke various emotions, such as calmness or joy. For example, light and pastel colors can promote relaxation, while vibrant and contrasting colors can stimulate activity. Well-chosen materials can support the store’s marketing strategy and contribute to better perception of the offer by customers. In the Dockers store, subdued colors dominate, and the space is minimalist, but the warmth and friendliness come from the wooden elements. The natural texture and color of wood make the space more welcoming and hospitable.
Our latest project is the Dockers monobrand store located in the Westfield Euralille Shopping Centre in Lille, France. Euralille is a district in the center of Lille, recognized for being an important European business district in the 1980s. Located between the Lille Flandres and Lille Europe SNCF train stations, just a stone’s throw from the city center, Westfield Euralille is the most popular shopping and leisure destination in the heart of Lille. The shopping center houses over 125 shops and restaurants, including brands like Calzedonia, Bershka, Etam, H&M, Adidas, Lacoste, Levi’s, Sephora, Zara, and many others.
The scope of work for the new Dockers store included retail furniture manufacturing, delivery, and installation. The work took place from April 6th to 7th, 2023. In the area of 40 sqm, we will find the brand’s men’s and women’s collections.
We have been cooperating with the Dockers brand for many years.Only in recent months we prepared a showroom in the center of Paris, shop-in-shops in the ECI department store chain in Spain, outlet stores in Madrid and Barcelona.
Aesthetics, functionality, and durability are key aspects to consider when designing a store. Appropriate materials can contribute to increasing the store’s attractiveness, which results in increased traffic and sales. The store’s interior is not only a visual matter but also a strategic tool that can bring tangible benefits to the business. In the case of Dockers store, we opted for wood. The warmth, coziness, and elegance of wood create a unique atmosphere that enhances positive shopping experiences.
