Once again, we had the opportunity to produce a store in a Parisian department store, which invariably dazzles with its panache and architectural style – Printemps on Haussmann Boulevard. The production was made for our regular client – Dockers and the store’s distinguishing feature is its women’s assortment.
Printemps in Paris, designed by the famous architects Jules and Paul Sédille, was opened on November 3, 1865. Department store policy revolutionized the shape of trade of that era. The goods had a fixed price, and sellers avoided haggling on the basis of the customer’s appearance, which was the standard of shopping those time. The department store supplied high-quality goods at prices that the growing middle class could afford. Printemps was also a pioneer in discount sales aimed at liquidating inventories. At the beginning of the 20th century, the department store moved to Haussmann Boulevard. The Art Nouveau appearance of the magnificent building invariably delights tourists from all over the world, and the icon of this place is the masterfully crafted stained glass dome. Over 44 thousand square meters of space, 25 levels in over 3 buildings provide an impressive number of shops and goods, with a rich representation of exclusive brands such as Armani, Calvin Klein, Christian Lacroix, Giuseppe Zanotti and Ralph Lauren.
In the last week of March, this noble group of brands was joined by a shop-in-shop with women’s Dockers collection. Although this brand is mainly associated with clothes for men, it opens more and more stores for women, as exemplified by thirteen stores with women’s assortment, which we prepared in Spain and Portugal in February and March this year. The store in Paris, just like the productions in Spain and Portugal, was designed in accordance with the new California Cool concept, which is distinguished by natural and ecological materials in bright colors. Our team was responsible for retail furniture manufacturing and assembly, which we carried out on March 21, 2022. The area of the store is 40 square meters.
It was not the first store we prepared for the Dockers brand in Printemps department stores. In 2020, on Haussmann’s boulevard, we launched a men’s shop with the brand’s assortment, and two years earlier, men’s shop-in-shops in the Printemps chain in other French cities. We have also worked for the Dockers brand in other countries – Spain, including Madrid and Barcelona several times, as well as in Scandinavian capitals such as Stockholm and Copenhagen.
