We prepared two new stationary stores for the Dockers brand in France. One is located in the famous Place de la Bastille in Paris and the other in the luxury Carré Sénart shopping center in the Seine-et-Marne department. These are stores with both women’s and men’s collections.
A monobrand store is a self-contained retail unit that has its own brand, product range and sales area. It is a place where a brand can build its identity, interact directly with customers and create a unique shopping experience.
Determine the purpose and identity of the brand: Before you start designing a monobrand store, it is important to define your business goals and brand identity. Consider what values and unique characteristics you want to convey through the retail space. Choose a style that reflects the brand’s personality and attracts the target audience.
Create a functional space: Plan the monobrand store space to make it functional and efficient for both customers and staff. Make the store easy to navigate, provide adequate space for product display, place the cash register in a strategic location, and make sure there are comfortable places to try on or test products.
Focus on visual presentation: Properly presented products catch the eye of customers. Ensure an attractive and neat presentation of your assortment. Use appropriate displays, use different heights, colors and textures to create visually interesting compositions. Draw customers’ attention to specific products or collections.
Take advantage of proper lighting: Lighting is of great importance in a monobrand store. The right lighting can highlight products, create the right atmosphere and influence the mood of customers. Use different types of lighting, such as spot, general and decorative, to achieve the desired visual effects.
Create experience zones: Give customers the opportunity to experience products firsthand. Create zones to try on, test or interact with the products. This will allow customers to better understand and appreciate the products on offer.
In the case of both stores, we were responsible for retail furniture production, transportation and assembly. Work on the store in the Carre Senart shopping center lasted from February 8 to 9, while in Paris the installation took place from February 22 to 23. Both new retail points are stores of similar size. The store in the mall is 80 sqm, while the one in Bastille – 60 sqm. From the store fronts and windows to the interior design, these new locations reflect the spirit of the brand’s concept, California Cool.
The Carré Sénart shopping center is regarded for the high quality of its services and leisure activities. It is located south of Paris at 3 Allée du Préambule Lieusaint Cedex. It has 113,000 sqm with 205 stores and a wide range of entertainment and restaurants. It is a much visited and leading shopping center in the south of Paris.
The second Dockers store is located at 15 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine around the famous Bastille Place in the eastern part of Paris on the right bank of the Seine. A defensive castle stood here between 1370 and 1789, converted to a prison – the Bastille – in the 17th century. Its capture on July 14, 1789 and subsequent demolition marked the beginning of the French Revolution. Today, the July Column, commemorating this event, stands on the square. It is a place visited in large numbers by tourists. The Dockers store is located in the vicinity of similar everyday clothing brands – Foot Locker, Volcom, Courir, G-Star Raw. It is undoubtedly an ideal place to reach Millenials and Generation Z consumers as Dockers’ strategy assumes.
Monobrand store type is a traditional but still irreplaceable form of retailing. Thoughtful and attractive store type designs can attract customers, build loyalty and increase sales. Our long-time client Dockers, which expands its number of stationary stores year after year, is well aware of this. Our recent projects include a showroom in Paris, SIS in the ECI chain in Spain, new Dockers stores in Madrid and Barcelona, and two shop-in-shops in France.
